23.02.2015 Polish baby food plant meets several unique challenges

J-Tec Material Handling, Kapellen, Belgium, has engineered, built and successfully commissioned a turnkey blending line in Poland for a key international player in the baby food industry. To date the company has installed similar infant formula food processing lines in more than 10 countries globally, allowing it to build up vast processing expertise from experience gained from its impressive project portfolio. The new Polish plant includes several FIBC discharge stations, bag dump stations, sieve, magnetic separation and buffer hoppers.

For hygienic considerations and also to minimise energy consumption, J-Tec opted for a gravitational setup. Among several novel features is a hoist with integral load cells above the FIBC discharge stations. This needed to be of very compact dimensions because of the limited space available and because nothing suitable was available on the market, J-Tec designed and engineered its own equipment to solve the problem. The company’s engineers designed a customised control system which is able to communicate with every layer of the installation as well as a track and trace system which guarantees consistent product quality. www.j-tec.com
