Bucket elevator ensures fast, effective transfer of ammonium sulphate
The Minerals & Mining Division of Aumund Fördertechnik, Rheinberg, Germany, reports that its belt bucket elevator installed last December at Eurochem’s Antwerp plant for handling ammonium sulphate has been operating at about twice the capacity (800t/h) of the previous bucket elevator at the same site (see EBS News for week of 23 June 2014). A significantly faster running speed accounts for the increased capacity. Owing to the corrosive atmosphere at the plant, the entire bucket elevator and allied chute systems have been fabricated from stainless steel. Plastic plates have been installed as protection against wear damage.
Aumund bucket elevators are increasingly being specified for applications outside the cement industry, where the company is a world leader. Aumund Group operates from a total of eight locations in Europe, North and South America, and Asia. www.aumund.com
