13.07.2015 FFS bagging of wood pellets

Concetti, Bastia Umbra, Italy, is now able to offer form-fill-seal (FFS-E) bagging machines for packaging of wood pellets. Using a tubular PE reel, they are capable of providing technologically advanced solutions for bagging and palletising biomass fuels, through the implementation of automatic packaging lines and systems tailored to customer needs.

Packaging lines for wood pellets can comprise one or more FFS machines working in conjunction with multibag pick & place or conventional layer palletizers, depending on the space available and the request of the customer. The FFS-E is equipped with three operating stations: one for bag bottom formation and film cutting based on the desired bag length; the second for the filling cycle; and the third for bag top sealing. A corner-welding feature produces bags that are squarer, resulting in easier palletising and more efficient use of cubic capacity.

Concetti explains that key advantages of its FFS bagging machines include: very high capacity outputs, over 1800 bags/hour; safe, stable and, reliable; easy access for cleaning and inspection; a clean workplace free of spillage. The company has already supplied wood pellet FFS machines in Italy and abroad. www.concetti.com
