Solids System-Technik, Zarautz, Guipuzcoa, Spain – sister company to Germany’s system-technik GmbH and both members of the Solids Solutions Group – recently supplied several hygienic rotary valves to a leading Latin American food manufacturer. The stainless steel valves, with an internal diameter of 250mm, have been specifically designed for extraction and dosing of food-grade powders and granules, whether dry or wet. Internally polished to a value of Ra<0.8 microns, they are ATEX certified and have been designed for wet cleaning and to operate in maximum temperatures of 80°C. They comply with EHEDG guidelines as well as GMP standards and the seals meet FDA requirements. As well as food, they are suitable for handling cosmetic and pharma products. www.solids.eu
