26.10.2015 Dolomite powder separated from crushed dolomite

Cuccolini, Reggio Emilia, Italy – part of the Virto Group – reports that it recently solved a complex screening problem for a customer in the animal feed industry who needed to separate crushed dolomite with a 2.5mm lump size from 800 micron dolomite powder. Efficient separation was required to meet three objectives: all oversize material (+2.5mm) had to be returned to the crusher; 2.50-0.80mm classification was for product one; 0.80-0.00mm classification was for product two. A major challenge was that the particles were ‘near size’ to the screen aperture, resulting in likelihood of mesh blinding.

The problem was solved by the rectangular, multi-frequency ScreenX vibrating sieve, two model RS2310.1 units being specified working in association with a single RS2010.1, all three machines with a single deck configuration. There was only a loss of 1.5% of final product into the +2.5mm oversize, representing 98.5% separation efficiency. In terms of capacity the RS 2310.1 units achieve 24t/h throughput whilst the RS 2010.1 performs at 30t/h. www.virtogroup.com
