25.01.2016 Extending the scope of moisture measurement

Liebherr-Mischtechnik, Bad Schussenried, Germany, is broadening the application of its digital and capacitive moisture measurement sensors to meet the needs of a wider range of industries. This technology – widely recognised for its high-resolution, precision, stability and sensitivity – is already used in the seed industry to monitor the moisture content of crops during harvesting. The harvesters’ control systems evaluate and convert raw data of the streaming sensor together with other measured values and assign them to the respective samples. More recently, an application has been found in the pet food industry.

The measured value streaming allows for direct connection of multiple sensors to control systems of plants and items of machinery, via MS-Windows. There is no need to install additional hardware. This arrangement is especially applicable to machinery manufacturers for use on test benches, where there is a requirement to integrate the measurement technology into their existing software solutions. www.liebherr-feuchtemessung.de
