HAVER & BOECKER has unveiled the latest evolution of its ADAMS® Form‑Fill‑Seal (FFS) technology with the launch of the ROTO‑PACKER® RS — a fully enclosed rotary packing system engineered to deliver cleaner, safer and more efficient bagging for cement, building materials, chemicals and food products.
The announcement comes as the company marks two decades since introducing ADAMS® technology to the market in 2005.
ADAMS® machines have long been recognised for their ability to cut energy consumption by up to 50% per bag while delivering superior product protection and cleanliness.
The new ROTO‑PACKER® RS builds on this legacy as the first and only rotary packer to offer a completely enclosed FFS process, eliminating product loss, improving weight accuracy and producing highly palletisable, weatherproof bags.
“We knew some industries — cement, building materials and pigment packing plants especially — needed a new packing option to keep their product safe and uncontaminated throughout the shipping and storage process. The development of ADAMS technology didn’t just give packing operations a highly efficient machine, it also increased the protection of their product once packing is completed,” said Mark Wehling, head of sales group minerals at HAVER & BOECKER. “We’re excited to introduce the ROTO-PACKER® RST featuring ADAMS® technology in light of the 20th anniversary of this advanced product.”
At the heart of the RS is a fully sealed cutting and welding process that produces robust, weatherproof bags capable of withstanding long-distance logistics and extended storage.
Reduced film consumption further cuts material use and waste, while the enclosed housing ensures a clean filling environment — a critical factor for fine powders.
The compact rotary system delivers between 400 and 1,200 bags per hour across up to 10 filling spouts. Large cabin openings simplify cleaning and maintenance, while specialised dosing units and vibration plates ensure optimal deaeration and compaction, allowing more product to be packed into smaller bags.
The RS platform is available in two configurations: the RST, equipped with a turbine‑based impeller system for fine powders, and the RSL, which uses air pressure filling. Both modules deliver more than 50% lower energy use than traditional systems.
A redesigned preinstalled platform shortens commissioning times, with HAVER & BOECKER’s service team providing on‑site installation and operator training. The MEC 4.0‑controlled HMI allows facilities to tailor the system to their specific requirements.
Advanced digital options include new motors for enhanced diagnostics, compaction detection, patented fill‑level monitoring, smart ventilation and glue‑edge detection. The RS series also integrates QUAT²RO® AI tools: Bag Check, which prevents incorrect bag use, and MatEx Check, which instantly halts filling if a bag bursts — dramatically improving safety and reducing downtime.
Through its BESPOKE service, HAVER & BOECKER also advises on optimal FFS bag design, including features such as UFP‑Perforation for controlled deaeration, helping customers achieve cleaner pallets, stronger product protection and improved brand presentation.
