Hosokawa Micron Limited has expanded its contract development and manufacturing operations at its Daresbury facility, tripling its cGMP processing capacity from one dedicated suite to three.
The expansion, which involves relocating into a larger space within the same building, enables the company to run multiple processing projects simultaneously for the first time.
The Daresbury site specialises in outsourced powder processing, material micronisation, classification and particle engineering for active pharmaceutical ingredients (APIs), excipients and medical device materials.
The facility supports formulation development and powder testing, as well as the production of materials for animal toxicology studies, stability testing, clinical trials and commercial manufacturing.
Operations are conducted in accordance with the regulatory and documentation standards required for cGMP manufacturing.
As part of the wider Hosokawa Micron Group, the expanded facility will continue to operate as a Contract Development and Manufacturing Organisation (CDMO).
