Bringing 3D and AR experiences to the smartphone
Packaging and filling technologies provider Greif-Velox has partnered with the 3D platform Vuframe to showcase innovative digital representations of its main systems. Through the Vuframe app, users can now view the VeloVac packaging line, the A-DOS-P1 filling machine, and the BVP pneumatic packer in lifelike 3D and Augmented Reality (AR) on their smartphone or tablet, from any angle.
Digital twins of the machines are created based on the original design data, allowing customers and interested parties to gain insights into Greif-Velox‘s technologies without requiring physical presence or extensive information materials.
Features of the Vuframe App The app offers three main features that make the experience particularly vivid and user-friendly:
- 3D View: Users can interact with machine models, rotating and zooming in on specific functions on their touchscreen.
- On-Table AR: The systems are projected onto a tabletop using AR and can be viewed from all angles.
- Life-Size AR: Machines can be placed in actual size within real-world environments, providing a highly realistic and immersive experience.
The machine models are accessible through the Vuframe app, streamlining information for potential customers. The VeloVac packaging line also includes the SafeDyVac bags, developed by Greif-Velox in collaboration with the paper bag manufacturer dy-pack Verpackungen Gustav Dyckerhoff GmbH.
In addition to the 3D view in the browser, users can benefit from the AR experience on their device. The free Vuframe app is available on the App Store and Google Play. Each machine on the Greif-Velox website has a quick step-by-step guide for downloading the corresponding data package.
