Hapman expands full‑scale testing capabilities with new bulk material handling lab
Hapman has expanded its European testing capabilities with the opening of a new bulk‑material handling test laboratory, designed to support manufacturers working with powders, granulates and other dry bulk solids.
The facility enables customers to conduct full‑scale trials on conveying, dosing and discharge equipment, helping them validate performance before committing to capital investment.
The lab includes flexible screw conveyors, pneumatic conveying rigs and controlled‑flow feeders, allowing processors to replicate real‑world conditions for materials ranging from fine powders to abrasive granules. According to Hapman, the expanded testing environment will reduce commissioning risks and improve system design accuracy, particularly for challenging materials prone to bridging, rat‑holing or inconsistent flow.
The company notes that demand for pre‑installation testing has risen sharply as European manufacturers seek greater reliability in powder‑handling operations, driven by tighter quality standards in food, chemical and pharmaceutical production. T
he new lab is expected to strengthen Hapman’s support for customers across the region, offering data‑driven insights into equipment selection, throughput optimisation and dust‑control strategies.
