Metso, a hydrometallurgy solutions company, has introduced a Robotic Split Strip that improves copper electrorefining operations. Known as Outotec®, the system separates the cathode sheets from the cathode plate in copper electrorefining operations.  

Outotec® combines hydraulic control and robotics.  It is a compact, flexible and efficient product with a smaller footprint and lower weight. It cuts down on larger mechanical structures and reduces the need for a high number of components – leading to spare part issues and high maintenance needs. The technology can be installed in new and existing plants, thanks to a modular design.
