BEUMER Group reports that Dr Jörn Fontius has been appointed managing director of BEUMER Maschinenfabrik, Beckum, Germany. He took up his new responsibilities in May, succeeding Norbert Stemich, who after eight years in the role is now focusing on group product business activities.

Fontius joined BEUMER Maschinenfabrik in 2013 where he specialised in corporate strategy. Afterwards, he became head of global supply chain management. At the end of 2019 he moved to BEUMER Corporation in Arlington, Texas, the North American group company, where he was president of the airport division for North America until April of this year.

Dr Fontius graduated in business administration and completed his doctorate in logistics during his professional career. He brings a wealth of experience to his new position. "I am looking forward to the upcoming challenges," he said. www.beumer.com
