22.07.2013 Process technology for Lean Six Sigma companies

Dinnissen Process Technology, Sevenum, the Netherlands, has developed a new ‘lean’ mixing concept which operates in association with an easily integrated bulk transfer system designed to be gentler and less expensive than traditional pneumatic conveying systems commonly used for this type of application. It is aimed at those customers who are increasingly working in accordance with Lean Six Sigma, a methodology used all over the world that aims to improve efficiency and eliminate waste. To this end the company is able to provide compact equipment offering high production capacity and ease of access, requiring a lower initial investment and which can also be cleaned more easily. Its lean mixing concept allows companies to achieve savings in terms of energy, labour, physical space, and investment costs for transport and storage systems by utilising innovative and simplified gravity-based transport technology. Multi-functional mixers and vacuum coaters are also cheaper to purchase and operate and require less space and labour. They additionally offer production companies, now and in future, a great deal of flexibility.

The ability to analyse data is another important resource for Lean Six Sigma companies. The new system has been fully automated to provide an intelligent and self-regulating production process. It provides PLC controls for machines and transport systems at field level as well as links to process controllers, variable speed drives, and master control centres in the customer’s network. This concept will be shown by Dinnissen at SOLIDS Rotterdam, 2-3 October (Stand F 1005), and at the K-Show, Düsseldorf, 16-23 October (Stand B71, Hall 10). www.dinnissen.nl
