27.01.2014 Winkworth now under Dutch ownership

Bastiaan Soeteman, owner and managing director of Lindor, Dordrecht, the Netherlands, has acquired a controlling stake in Winkworth Machinery, Swallowfield, nr Reading, the UK’s largest manufacturer of industrial mixers. Through acquisition of the shareholding from James Winkworth, grandson of the founder Frank Winkworth, the transaction ends 90 years and three generations of control and share ownership by the Winkworth family. Lindor is recognised globally for its ‘gentle touch’ rotating drum mixers.

The two companies, which offer complementary designs of blending equipment, will continue to operate as separate entities each with its own factory and management team. Grant Jamieson will remain a shareholder and managing director of Winkworth. “We are very much looking forward to working together and sharing learning and insights to further develop the best process solutions for our current and future customers”, commented Soeteman. www.lindor.nl; www.mixer.co.uk
