01.12.2014 Schütz opens second manufacturing plant in France

Schütz, Selters, Germany, in late November officially inaugurated its second site in France with a ceremony attended by 150 guests. The new factory, which has been operational since May of this year, is the latest component in the company’s strategy of consistently increasing delivery security and flexibility for its customers worldwide. Built in just a few months, the state-of-the-art factory in Saint-Étienne has now been officially commissioned in fitting style. Roland Strassburger, Schütz CEO, and Andrea Adolf, general manager Schütz France, welcomed guests from industry, business and politics as well as customers from food, pharmaceutical and chemical industries.
The factory site is situated 60km south-west of Lyon at the foot of Mont Pilat on the eastern border of the Massif Central. Facilities currently provide for manufacture of new Ecobulks in a three-layer extrusion process and the reconditioning of used containers, a service that was launched here a few weeks ago.
At the official inauguration (from the left): Bernard Bonne, president of the Conseil Général de la Loire; Andrea Adolf, general manager Schütz France; Jean-Louis Gagnaire, member of parliament for the Département Loire, vice-president of the Conseil Régional Rhône-Alpes and economic development director; Roland Strassburger, Schütz CEO; Maurice Vincent, senator of the Département Loire; Fabienne Buccio, prefect of the Département Loire; Gaël Perdriau, mayor of Saint-Étienne and president of Saint-Étienne Métropole; and Klaus Ranner, general consul of the Federal Republic of Germany
