SYMACH, Terneuzen, the Netherlands, chose the occasion of this week’s Victam 2015 exhibition in Cologne to launch FillStar, the latest in the Star Series of bagging machines which includes the UltraStar and OmniStar models. The FillStar has been designed to bag all types of free flowing products using laminated poly-woven, polyethylene or paper open-mouth bags. It has the capability to select empty bags from a bag magazine, opens them and automatically places them on to the filling spout. Bags are presented under the spout by mechanical clamps which consistently maintain the form of the flat bag (including the gusset) until the bag is transported through the closing station. Accommodating bag sizes from 4kg to 50kg, it offers speeds of 20 bags per minute, which in the case of 25kg bags total more than 30t of product per hour. It also features high-speed automatic changeover for recipe changes, an intuitive operator interface that provides alarms and maintenance notices, as well as remote online support capabilities.
