Universal controller for feeding and dosing
Gericke has developed a new universal controller, the GUC-F, designed for feeding, dosing, batching, and weighing processes used in industries including food, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and speciality materials. The system is intended to provide a common platform for automated powder-handling operations.
The controller can manage up to four feeders in either gravimetric or volumetric modes and can be used in batch or continuous processing. This configuration option reduces the number of separate controller units required in multi-feeder applications. It is compatible with both analogue and digital load cells for weighing functions.
The GUC-F incorporates fast signal processing and uses Gericke’s TrendTec control algorithm to stabilise feed rates during process variations such as refilling cycles. Operation is via an HMI with multilingual capability and standard/expert access levels, with the option for local or remote connection through browser-based devices or plant control systems.
Connectivity features include integration into automation networks, data-access controls, and support for software updates. The controller offers condition-monitoring functions intended to support maintenance planning. The system is built for industrial environments, including shielding and filtering intended to improve performance where electrical or mechanical interference may affect measurement accuracy.
