AZO launches automated powder‑receiving station for food and chemical processors
AZO has launched a fully automated powder‑receiving station aimed at improving the safe unloading, screening and distribution of powders, granulates and pellets in European food, plastics and chemical plants.
The new unit is engineered for manufacturers handling ingredients such as starches, milk powders, polymer pellets, fine chemicals and mineral additives. It features an enclosed docking system for big bags and sacks, preventing dust escape during discharge. An integrated vibratory screener removes foreign bodies, while a pneumatic conveying module transfers material directly to silos, mixers or downstream processing lines.
AZO says the station reduces manual handling, improves operator safety and ensures consistent product quality through controlled flow and automated batch tracking. The design includes tool‑free access for cleaning, supporting rapid changeovers between product types — a key requirement for multiproduct facilities.
The system is compatible with ATEX‑rated environments and can be equipped with load cells, metal detection and inline sampling for enhanced quality assurance. Its compact footprint allows installation in existing plants with limited space.
European processors are increasingly seeking automation to address labour shortages and rising hygiene expectations. AZO reports strong interest from customers in Germany, France and the UK, particularly in sectors where powders and pellets must be transferred with minimal contamination risk.
The company expects the new receiving station to become a core component in modern bulk‑handling operations, supporting higher throughput, improved traceability and reduced environmental emissions.
