Spiroflow launches advanced sack tip station to improve material handling performance
Spiroflow has introduced a new sack tip station designed to help manufacturers improve workplace safety, air quality and material handling efficiency when processing challenging powders and hazardous materials.
Handling materials efficiently and safely is a critical requirement for manufacturers across a wide range of industries.
Sack tip stations, also known as bag dump stations, play a vital role in enabling the controlled, hygienic and efficient transfer of materials. Responding to customer demand for enhanced air quality and greater material handling precision, Spiroflow’s engineering team has developed an innovative sack tip station that delivers significant improvements in both operational performance and operator safety.
The development follows a recent project involving a customer handling materials that generated toxic airborne particles during the emptying process. The customer’s existing system lacked sufficient filtration capabilities, creating concerns around air quality and increasing the risk of operator exposure to hazardous dust.
To overcome these challenges, Spiroflow engineered a bespoke solution featuring an integrated extraction unit and dust extraction fan.
Together, these technologies provide enhanced filtration performance, improving workplace air quality while ensuring a controlled and reliable material discharge process.
The new sack tip station incorporates a range of features specifically designed to meet demanding operational and safety requirements. An integrated extraction unit captures hazardous airborne particles at source, helping to protect operators from inhalation risks associated with toxic materials.
A dedicated dust extraction fan continuously removes fine particles during operation, reducing dust build-up and supporting a cleaner working environment.
Additional features include a compressed air inlet and breather disk, which help maintain optimal pressure and airflow to maximise filtration efficiency and minimise the escape of airborne dust. A filter cartridge access door allows quick and straightforward maintenance, enabling regular inspections and cleaning to ensure consistent performance and compliance with safety standards.
To promote reliable material flow when handling difficult powders, the station is equipped with a vibrator mount plate that reduces the risk of blockages. A bolt-in safety grid further enhances operator protection by preventing accidental contact with the handling area during operation.
Suitable for applications ranging from volatile compounds and high-value powders to research and development trials, the new sack tip station offers manufacturers a robust and dependable solution.
By minimising material loss, reducing contamination risks and supporting compliance with industry safety requirements, the system helps organisations create safer, more efficient material handling processes while maintaining high operational standards.
