Bryan Beutels has joined Belgian logistics group Gheys as chief executive, moving from warehouse automation company Element Logic, as the family-owned business looks to expand its bulk chemicals, food and animal-feed operations.
Beutels spent two years as managing director Benelux at Element Logic, where he helped double revenues, following senior roles at Kuehne+Nagel, Distrilog Group and Transport Van Roobroeck. He began his career at CH Robinson.
He succeeds Ronny Gheys, who led the company for 15 years. Dirk Gheys, a former chief executive, returned temporarily to run the business during the transition and has now resumed his position on the board.
Based in Mol, Group Gheys provides storage, handling, transport and other logistics services, with a particular focus on bulk chemicals as well as food and animal feed.
In addition, Gheys expanded its executive committee with the appointment of Michel Gelders as commercial director.
