Metso acquires component manufacturer Italbronze to strengthen technology leadership in crushing

Metso has signed an agreement to acquire Italbronze, a Brazilian manufacturer of high-quality bronze alloy components serving mining and other industrial customers globally.
The acquisition reinforces Metso's position as one of the world's leading crushing technology providers by securing a strategically important manufacturing capability and critical know-how for its crushing aftermarket business.
Further, the transaction supports Metso's strategy to accelerate aftermarket growth while strengthening the availability and development of critical spare parts for customers worldwide. It also enhances supply chain resilience, supporting reliable deliveries and equipment uptime.
Located in the Greater São Paulo area, Italbronze was founded 67 years ago and has been a trusted Metso supplier for more than 30 years.
“This acquisition secures a critical manufacturing capability for our growing crushing business. By combining Italbronze’s decades of bronze alloy manufacturing expertise with Metso’s global service and supply network, we can further enhance supply security and delivery performance for customers worldwide,” said Heikki Metsälä, president, services business area, Metso.
“Joining Metso represents an exciting new chapter for our company. This transaction provides continuity for our employees, customers and partners while creating new opportunities as part of a global industry leader.
“We are proud of the expertise and reputation we have built over decades and are confident that our people and capabilities will continue to thrive within Metso,” added Jaime Ortiz Jimenez, statutory director, Italbronze.
The parties have agreed not to disclose the transaction value, and the acquisition is not expected to have a material impact on Metso’s financial performance. The acquisition is expected to be completed by the end of 2026, subject to approval by the antitrust authorities.
